​WITNESS: Alewife Poets Benefit Reading, Sunday June 5th, 3 pm

​        Jessie Brown, Gayle Roby and Susan Lloyd McGarry will be reading poems of spiritual and social witness that explore issues of faith, equality, and the natural world.  The program is offered in cooperation with peace and justice advocacy groups at Friends Meeting at Cambridge, 5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge. ​

         Inspired by Quaker artist-activists, the reading bears witness through visual outreach as well as performance.  There will be a silent auction of several sculptural poem installations, as well as poster broadsides available for sale showcasing the work of all three poets.  Any funds raised will support the poets' participation in an interdisciplinary workshop combining poetry and art.
