Jessie Brown is a poet and teacher in the Boston area. She leads workshops in schools, libraries and community centers, both independently and through local arts and educational organizations.
Her poems and translations have appeared in local and national journals, including The Comstock Review, Friends Journal, the American Poetry Review, and others. Her first chapbook Lucky won the Anabiosis Press Chapbook Competition; her second, What We Don't Know We Know, came out from Finishing Line Press. She has a Master’s degree from the writing program at Stanford, where she studied with Denise Levertov.
A founding member of the Alewife Poets, she gives frequent performances and workshops both in collaboration and alone. She lives in Arlington, Massachusetts.
